Spread the love

Waking up to sun in my eyes this Monday was definitely not the worst thing in the world, but Monday is Monday and after a weekend of hiking, good food, indulging and friends, it was still a little hard to wake up.

Luckily for us in Seattle, there are many fabulous things to look forward to this week! This Friday, my friend Dawn is having an awesome party to benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital at the new updated Frost Doughnuts in Mill Creek (I’ve heard they now have cupcakes and macarons!) where kids can decorate doughnuts and parents can pair cupcakes with their wine.

And if you love “An American Family eats Tokyo” as much as I do, you might want to pop into Uwajimaya this Saturday to meet the author and hear about this book.  I saw a poster the last time I stopped at the bookstore there and I couldn’t check my own calendar fast enough.IMG_4999

And ages ago, I remember a soapbox derby Red Bull put on down a hill in Fremont that was so fun to watch and now they have one coming up on Sunday in Pioneer Square.  My guys would LOVE watching these carts fly around so we might have to figure out a way to check it out.

As for shopping, I really love a new site called great.ly where some of my favorite designers are setting up curated shops of things for home, kids and parties and it’s a fun place to lose a few hours.

I also am intrigued by Brightlablights by Jordan Ferney from Oh Happy Day.  These lights add such a neat pop and are so fun for parties.  I may have bought the Party Girl set to counteract all the boy in my house but if you’re really creative you can even make your own set on the site too.

And I found some cute little lunchboxes the last time I shopped at Metropolitan Market.  We’re getting there for school supplies, but I still have a long way to go.

So I hope you have a happy Monday wherever you are.  Did you buy anything fabulous this weekend?
