What is the 12 status program from Delta Airlines and the Seattle Seahawks
Spread the love

The other day, I got a huge surprise in the mail that reminded me I need to get my Seattle Seahawks spirit glowing a little brighter now that we are well into the routine of being back at school.  It’s all Seahawks all the time in our house right now (when it’s not all Sounders all the time or all Hawkeyes, the kids soccer team all the time…..you get the idea, it is always sports of some sort) and I was excited to find a package full of blue and green gear to help me get into the spirit of things.  In this package I also learned about something called “12 Status” from Delta Airlines and the Seahawks that I need to share with you if you fly on Delta and love the Seahawks too.

What is the 12 status program from Delta Airlines and the Seattle Seahawks

12 Status

If you go to the 12 status site you can sign up with your Delta Miles number to earn one mile for every yard the Seattle Seahawks throw on the field at both home and away games during the 2018 NFL Season.  This is cool because you get to earn miles when you are not even flying!  I checked my Delta Miles from the flights I’ve had in the past little while and I am SO close to a one way ticket to Phoenix so by signing up and cheering for my Seahawks at home, I might even be able to earn my way to somewhere warm and that is something that will totally make me concentrate on the game a whole lot more.  If we travel during the NFL season, we 12’s who have signed up for 12 Status get Priority Boarding on all Delta flights out of Sea-Tac during the 2018 NFL Season until Sunday, February 3, 2019 too.  I didn’t realize Delta did this last year too, so if you signed up last year, it’s time to sign up again.

American Express Experience Lounge for pregame festivities

The American Express Experience takes place at 165 South Jackson Street and it’s something I want to check out one of these days too.  It’s open 3 hours prior to every Seahawks home game, until kickoff.  They have Meet & Greets with Seahawks legends-I know Steve Largent stopped by at one of the games.  There is also a Pro Shop Pop-Up with savings exclusively for American Express Card Members and complimentary treats from some local food vendors.  If you are going to the game at Century Link field, you can use your Amex Card and save on a pulled pork sandwich with chips and drink at Smokehouse BBQ in sections 120, 131, 213, 231, 305, 335

Pregame at the Perch

Another place to stop by in Seattle before many of the Seahawks home games is at Embassy Suites right next to Century Link Field.  Pregame at the Perch is a free event that happens there on some game days with a live DJ, game giveaways and many food and beverage options.  I don’t know much about the event but I think this hotel is incredible and worth a stop-in just to check it out if you are in the area and have time.

Clear Bag Policy at Seahawks Games

If you are going to a game, you probably know this already but this is my PSA to remind you that you need to bring a clear bag.  There is a lot of info about it on the Seahawks actual website and I know I’ve seen so many people have problems with this at Sounders games.  It’s always a good idea to check what you can bring into a stadium before you head to a game.

An officially licensed NFL cake from a local bakery for a party in Seattle

NFL Cake with a Seahawks logo

I also learned recently that you can get an officially licensed cake with the Seahawks logo on it at a bunch of local bakeries which is great if you are having a home game watching celebration. I tried the one at the QFC near my house but I want to try the one from Borracchini’s Bakery and the Salvadorean Bakery too.

Have you been to a Seahawks game?  It’s still on my Seattle bucket list but we do spend a ton of time watching the games no matter where in the world we are when the game is on.  Do you have any tips for 12’s in Seattle?

(PS. if you’re in Seattle with your kids for a Seahawks game, I have a list of kid-friendly restaurants we love in our city and things that you can do while you visit when you’re not watching the game.)
