Spread the love

The hardest part about travel now that we travel with teenagers is that we don’t have all the time and flexibility we used to have when they were younger because of school and sports. One of the main ways we choose the places we go to is by if they have nonstop flights from Seattle. There are now so many nonstop flights from Seattle both domestic and all over the world and we really love Seatac airport. So just in case you have to plan vacations in the same way too I’ve included some of the places we’ve been or that we’ve looked into just in case it helps.

Seattle to Dublin on Air Lingus

Seattle to Dublin is one of our more recent bookings and if you are headed to Dublin and have questions about where we stayed please feel free to message here or on Instagram. We were looking for direct flights to Tokyo for the fall and decided to check a few more places to see if we could get cheaper flights somewhere else in the world. Dublin ended up being about $300 less per flight and we have not been there yet so we decided to go to Dublin instead and I’ll keep you updated how this goes.

Seattle to Tokyo (Narita Airport) on ANA

Tokyo is usually about 9 hours from Seattle and we’ve flown ANA and really enjoyed the flight. We often check this route from YVR too if we’re using this as a stopping point to Singapore where we have family as well. The last time we flew this route we found out that ANA had discounted internal flights within Japan so we booked direct flights from Seattle then added internal flights to get to Okinawa and Nagoya. Nagoya has the Toyota factory and it’s a really cool place to visit. My family is in Kochi on Shikoku, a really beautiful and more off-the-beaten path in Japan and it’s a really cool place to visit with families if you’re looking to explore

Seattle to the Island of Hawaii (Big Island) with Alaska Air

We love all the Hawaii islands and we’ve visited many of them through the years, and all of them have nonstop flights from Seattle but our absolute favorite is probably the Island of Hawaii because we’ve had some really incredible family trips there. We love the beaches and we have a place we’ve been booking a couple times now and all the coffee and farm tours too.

Seattle to Iceland with Iceland Air

Seattle to Iceland is one of our favorite memories from when our kids were little. The kids were treated so kindly on Icelandair and we used our flights from Iceland to create a longer trip into Europe.

Seattle to London with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic

Seattle to London is a route we’ve done a few times and we went in November 2019 so we could see the Christmas Markets in London, Germany and Belgium. I realize I haven’t written a post about these markets yet just a really cool bridge I saw on Pinterest that I wanted to see in real life. The coolest thing was getting afternoon tea on our Virgin Atlantic flight and I really hope this always happens, it’s magical. We also just went in 2023 to see if we could do just three nights at Thanksgiving and yes, it was enough time.

Seattle to Nassau

Bahamas is new a nonstop flight from Seattle with Alaska Air that just started in November 2023. We tried it for February midwinter break and it’s a great warm weather option for Seattleites in winter and it’s now a flight I’ll check against Hawaii when we look during busy Seattle school holidays too. (I really hope they keep this flight!)

And there are SO many other direct flights from Seattle to cool places too

Among these are also flights to Chicago, Boston, New York, Washington DC and all over California. We often head to Los Angeles and LAX is the easiest for getting multiple flights in a day and we most recently went through SNA to get to Anaheim for Disneyland at Halloween and their car rental area is within walking distance from baggage claim and it was nice not having to take the shuttle. The most beautiful direct flight to California we’ve taken from Seattle is one to SLO-the views out the window as we landed were just stunning and the airport was only about 10 minutes from our hotel.

Seattleites should also think about YVR for travel

We also often check YVR too because that’s where our family is from but Richmond BC where the airport is has many hotels where you can park and fly as well. We have flown to New Zealand and Japan from Vancouver because we ended up finding more reasonably priced direct flights than we could from Seattle.

Do you have a favorite direct flight out of Seattle? I’d love to hear about it, especially if I haven’t mentioned it above.
