Using Groupon for local deals in Seattle like Chihuly Garden and Glass and the Space Needle

Space Needle with Group Local Deals in Seattle
Spread the love

I recently rediscovered Groupon when someone asked me about how to get a good deal for woodland park zoo. I usually have a membership so I didn’t realize how much it costs now to go to the zoo without one. This is how I found out that there is a Groupon deal for Woodland Park Zoo that seemed to be the best price I could find. And then last week I got a message in my inbox about becoming a Groupon affiliate and was invited to try Groupon for a Seattle experience and I couldn’t believe how many local deals there were. I decided to try out the Chihuly Garden and Glass/Space Needle combination deal to see how it worked.

My parents were in town from BC for the weekend when we tried the Chihuly/Space Needle package. The last time we went to the Space Needle together was for a dinner when it used to have a restaurant. I’ve been quite a few times since and I was excited to show them the Loupe revolving glass floor and have coffee with them from the cafe at the top.

I booked my Groupon the morning of our adventure, then all I had to do was show my certificates in my app at the Space Needle or Chihuly ticketing areas. We started with the Space Needle because we thought that might get the busiest and were there shortly after it opened. Getting our tickets were easy and we didn’t have to go at a specific time, we just had to visit both the Space Needle and the Chihuly Garden and Glass on the same day.

We spent longer than I thought we would at the Space Needle. We had glorious weather and it wasn’t very crowded at the top even though we saw a lot of people lining up after us as we boarded our elevator to the top. We walked the outside. My parents braved leaning on the glass walls. And then we were brave enough to walk over the glass revolving floors too. We had coffee at the top to celebrate and to take in the views a little longer.

The gift shop at the Space Needle was also fun to check out. They now have a robot coffee machine called Cosmo as well as protein cookies that I’ll have to try next time. You can also buy glass vases made at the Chihuly Garden and Glass Hot Shop in the Space Needle Gift Store. We really enjoyed watched a Hot Shop demonstration when we visited Chihuly Garden and Glass. I love the spring plants in the gardens at the Chihuly exhibition too.

We might have eaten at the Bar at Chihuly Garden and Glass (we’ve dined there before and it’s delicious) but we had already decided we would go to Cafe Flora for lunch and our parking might have expired. I found street parking nearby the Space Needle but it could not be extended past the four hours and I didn’t realize we might have needed more than 4 hours having lunch there too. We might have also done this experience later in the day and caught the sunset from the Space Needle but we had Mariners tickets (and this all made for a very fun and full Seattle day!)

(PS. I noticed that when you click through the Chihuly Garden and Glass Seattle Group link you can often get an extra few dollars off using the Groupon app too. Sometimes there a coupon codes and also you might try checking through Rakuten then Groupon to get additional cash back as well.)
