Lorraine’s Candles and Seabrook Arcade : two fabulous new ways to bond with family on a Seabrook trip

Spread the love

Every time we visit Seabrook there is something new to look forward to. The last time we visited Seabrook the bakery there was half the size than it is now and the lineup was probably less than half as long too. It’s become VERY popular and with good reason. And now there’s a new grocery store, Lorraine’s candles and a fun new place for the kids to play at Seabrook Arcade as well. We love Seabrook for at least a few nights every year-it’s a great getaway not too far from Seattle.

When you plan your visit you can choose from a variety of accommodations on the Seabrook website. Picking our vacation house is one of our favorite parts of planning a Seabrook trip. The houses vary in sizes-we have stayed in some of the smallest Seabrook properties as well as some of the biggest (some of the houses here can accommodate more than 10 people). During 2020 times we stayed here for a couple weeks and managed to do school online here as well. Staying at Seabrook is a unique type of vacation and I’ve also developed a list of things you might want to pack if you visit.

If candles are one of your favorite souvenirs you’ll love that you can make them at Lorraine’s Candles

Lorraine’s Candles popped up recently in Seabrook and it’s such a novel way to create a souvenir and memories together with family members. I went with my mom, my sister and niece. We were able to book a time easily in advance on their website so we didn’t have to worry if it would be too busy. We played pickle ball and rode our bikes in the morning and then walked over from our vacation rental to make candles together.

The whole activity didn’t take more than an hour. We could have taken more or less time and we also were able to pick up our candles later that day. We really enjoyed trying to figure out our perfect candle scents. And then it was fun to mix our favorite scents together to create our own signature candle. Crafting in a space where we didn’t have to worry about the setup or cleanup was a really nice feature of this too. Also, I’ve made candles before (I really love this place in Seattle) but here at Lorraine’s there was a unique thing where you could have stones and gems added to the candle after the wax was poured. My niece really enjoyed picking out all the pretty stones for her candle.

I love that we have these candles as a souvenir from a family trip.

Seabrook Arcade is also new to Seabrook in 2023

Even though summer is gorgeous in Seabrook, I really love the shoulder seasons here. I know when my kids are older I want to come back and spend time here in the fall. The Seabrook Arcade is perfect for weather-y fall days when the kids get a little antsy being cooped up a little more and need an adventure.

It was also a really great bit of independence for my guys in the summer-they played pinball and bowling with their younger cousins, chose prizes and had a bit of fun together. My husband and our guys had a basketball shoot out which was pretty memorable too. There are many games that give out tickets and many nostalgic games. It’s nice to have one more place in the village to hang out together (and sometimes not together) on holidays.

Have you ever been to Seabrook, WA? We went for the first time in 2020 and it’s become one of our favorite places to vacation to in Washington State. The beach is gorgeous, there are a variety of accommodations (this one probably our favorite) and we like to bike and play pickleball. There are two pools here now but we’ve actually never used either, we always find too many other things to do. And I try to head back any chance I can get- I think it’s one of the dreamiest spots I’ve ever visited.

  1. Thanks for spending time with us at Lorraine’s! We are thrilled you enjoyed your time with us. We are a mother/daughter-owned business and we love to see families coming together to make a little memory of their time here in Seabrook.
