All the farms near Seattle we want to visit in October

farms near Seattle like Suyematsu Farm on Baindbridge Island to visit in the Fall
Spread the love

No to a fall bucket list this year-who needs that kind of stress? I just wanted a place to keep notes about some special farms near Seattle we might want to visit this fall. October is such a great season at farms in the Pacific Northwest as they are filled with pumpkins, corn and apples and so many festivities to get us through our dark, wet November. My family’s goal is to visit at least one during this season. But with all the high school things the guys have this year it might just be me visiting on my own to bring a little autumn joy in our home and as usual I’ll let you know how that goes in my Instagram feed.

Farms near Seattle for October adventures

Gordon Skagit Farms

(*a dog-friendly farm too!* This one is near Mount Vernon and La Conner Washington (open end of September to end of October 2023)

This one is at the top of my list because we’ve never been to Gordon Skagit Farms yet. I’ve seen gorgeous pictures in my instagram feed and I think they allow dogs so Scout can come too. I always check these things before I go and encourage you to check as well. This one is open on the weekdays but there are probably more things to do here on the weekends. I really want to check out the corn maze here as well.

Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin farm in Maltby

(This farm is open in the summer and transitions to a fall festival in autumn.)

Bob’s corn and pumpkin farm was a sponsor at an event I recently went to for Washington Farmland Trust. It’s also one we’ve been to at least a few times over the years for the corn maze and pumpkin patches. One year friends rented an area with a fire pit and it was a great place to hang out and visit. Bob’s Corn and Pumpkin Farm has a night corn maze too!

Cedardale Orchards is one of the farms near Seattle you might want to visit in fall for donuts and cider

Cedardale Orchards in Mount Vernon

This big red barn is noticeable from the I-5 so one day between Seattle and Vancouver we took a detour and checked it out. Their hours seem pretty solid-you can buy cider here daily between 10am-5pm and on the weekends in October (and maybe beyond) they have cider donuts-make sure you check their Facebook site. We were lucky enough that our visit was on the weekend and the donuts were delicious.

Suyematsu Farms on Bainbridge Island

We have had more than one soccer tournament on Bainbridge Island and recently found u-pick flowers at Suyematsu Farm. The dahlias are probably over for the season but this farm also has a pumpkin patch that is perfect for little kids and didn’t seem overly busy when I went. It looks like it is open weekdays as well as weekends in October and you can find more info on their website.

Swans Trail Farms-Snohomish

This is a gorgeous farm we haven’t visited since the boys were small. I think I haven’t wanted to re-write the memories from our time there. But maybe we’ll be back this year or next for nostalgia’s sake. I can imagine why this is still one of the most popular farms in the area. This farm also has a Washington State Corn Maze.

Lattin’s Cider in Olympia

The fall festival at Lattin’s Cider goes until the end of October and I’ve heard their donuts are maybe the best in the area? Olympia isn’t too far away and I wish we went here more often. So hopefully this might be the one we get to this year. (Fingers crossed that maybe we get a soccer game or tournament in the area. Are your weekends dictated by kids’ sports too?)

Farms near Seattle Washington to visit in the fall

And yes, there are a zillion more farms in our area but this is feeling like a doable enough handful for this year-even if we only get to one. I also did a tour of Skagit Valley farm stands this summer and some on Camano Island as well and many of them are likely still open in October as well if you are looking for locally grown produce and locally made goods. If you know of a farm that you think should be included in this list please let me know. I’d love to hear about it!

(PS. if you pick up apples when you go to one of these farms I made these easy brown butter apple blondies that were delicious and the whole house had the best fall aroma while they were baking too!)
