Port of Seattle Adult Education classes with Port U

Have you ever wondered about all the things that go on at the Port of Seattle? And the Port of Seattle isn’t just the airport, it also involves places along our waterfront as well as Fisherman’s Terminal. I recently learned about a Free Port U Adult Education Series with the Port of Seattle where you can learn things like marine industrial commerce and wildlife habitat restoration along the 5 mile long Duwamish waterways on a boat tour, the Port and Seattle Aquarium’s sustainable practices or an up close look at the cranes that help with cargo handling.

You can sign up for these free classes through this link. So far, there are 6 listed and some only have waitlists right now (Apparently priority is given to first-time Port U registrants and space is limited-advanced reservations are required)

These classes happen throughout the year so make sure you check back to see if more classes are added and I’ll try to share these on my social media when I hear about them as well. I’ve signed up for a couple and I’m curious about what we will learn. After you get registered a confirmation will be sent via email and these classes are open to adults 18 and older. Driving directions/ parking information will be sent prior to each event via email so it’s important to check for these too. Also, in addition to being a free program, light refreshments will be offered at each Port U program except for Environmental 101 and this sounds so thoughtful and lovely.

I was really excited to learn that the Port of Seattle offers these Free port U adult education classes. Is there one in particular that catches your eye? Is there anything you want to know about the Port of Seattle?

PS. if you are a fan of boats, you might be interested in the Seattle Boat Show that happens in Seattle every year in February. There are many “Boat Show University” seminars at the Seattle Boat Show too.

PPS. you might also be interested in SeaFair in Seattle in the summer.
