Do you have a favorite kind of olive? I think I love all of them.  But I’m such a fan of Lindsay Snack and Go! Olives because they come in really handy portable containers and we brought them with us to so many places this summer.  Lindsay Olives has many varieties and my favorite of the Snack and Go! olives to eat are the pimiento stuffed Spanish manzanilla olives. The sliced black ripe olives are the easiest ones to put on homemade pizza. The containers help with portioning too-they range from 40-100 calories each and there are just enough olives in a Snack and Go! container that I don’t mind sharing a few.  If you think you want to order some olives, I have a code: LINDSAYVIP19 you can use for 20% your order on the Lindsay Olives online site.  Here are a few of the places where we took our Lindsay Snack and Go! olives that might also give you inspiration if you’re looking for family travel ideas from Seattle:

Manning Park, BC Canada

I’ve heard about Manning Park a lot when I was growing up and I think many people come here to cross country ski.  There is a resort here and a lot of camping and the restaurant looked good too.  One day I want to come back for one of their dark sky viewing parties to watch the stars.

We were traveling between Osoyoos and Vancouver and stopped here because we needed to charge our car and there is an electric charger here.  We packed a picnic of cheese, crackers, some peaches we bought at a roadside fruit stand and our Snack and Go! Olives and it was such a beautiful meal outdoors.

New Mexico

The hubby and I took a trip to Ojo Caliente in New Mexico for a quick weekend anniversary trip this summer.  It’s supposed to be the oldest spa in the United States.  We had about a 2 hour drive between the airport and our resort, so I packed a couple Snack and Go! Olives to eat along the way and they were a really welcome snack.

Snoqualmie Pass

Throughout the year when we are not traveling, we spend our weekdays in Seattle and our weekends at our cabin in the mountains in Snoqualmie Pass.  The Snack and Go! sliced olives are so helpful here when we want to make pizzas-it’s the perfect portion for a topping for one pizza or for a burrito and we like olives on our salads too.

Valdes Island

Summer doesn’t feel like summer unless we visit my sister and her family at their cabin on Valdes Island.  We love hanging out with family there and we ate olives with them on the island too.

Great Wolf Lodge

We were at Great Wolf Lodge for the day using a day pass and I had the Snack and Go! Olives in my car so I grabbed a quick snack between putting away our swim stuff and heading back into the Lodge for a magiquest.

I didn’t realize when I brought these Snack and Go! Olives along on all these trips that it would be so fun to go back and look for them in our pictures.  Thinking about snacking together in special places brings back all the feelings of summer and I can’t believe we only have about a week left to go.  Do you have a favorite snack to bring along on travels?  And did you have a favorite place you visited this summer?
