I am always looking for versatile shoes that can be used for different occasions while traveling so when Tieks messaged me about trying out their footwear I was more than excited to peruse their site to find a pair that would be perfect for our summer adventures. Tieks are a ballet flat “reinvinted” with signature “Tieks blue” patches on their soles that provide comfort and prevent skidding. They are foldable so they are easy to pack and I counted around 75 colors/styles on their site.
I am not sure if you can buy Tieks in stores, but you can definitely find them online. They have a good return/exchange policy where they cover shipping both ways in the USA and unworn Tieks can be returned/exchanged for a refund within 182 days (6 months). They also have a lot of online reviews and this was helpful when trying to decide what color/style I wanted to choose.
For my first ever Tieks I narrowed my choices down to three styles: the Rose because they are metallic and pink and I’m usually drawn to shoes with this color scheme, the rose garden because they were the furthest from a basic black which would be my most sensible choice for a shoe that goes with everything and I love flowery designs, and ember because that was the name of my son’s solar car that won a race at the Texas Motor Speedway last year.
And I ended up choosing Ember and I was very pleased when they arrived.

Tieks shoes come in the cutest packaging. On top of the Tieks Blue box for these Ember shoes was a flower with a dragon emblem in the same color as my ember shoes. The shoes came folded and tucked into a cute little box and I love how it feels like they wouldn’t take up very much precious luggage space as a travel shoe. They also came with a handy shoe bag as well-these little touches are so thoughtful and important.

It’s been a little rainy/weathery in seattle on top of a lot of other things going on in our lives lately so I haven’t been able to take my Tieks out for any real adventures yet, but trying them on and wearing them around the house, I’ve found that they’re pretty comfortable and feel like they’re true to size. I like the way the soles of these shoes also seem a bit more cushiony than other ballet flats I’ve tried. And I’m looking forward to wearing them to Pike Place Market the next sunny day we visit and they seem like they will also be a great shoe for our summer trips. I will probably usually wear them paired with jeans or a flowy long summer dress.
Are you looking for shoes like this for summer adventures? How many shoes do you usually pack when you travel with a suitcase? (With a pair like this, sometimes I only need to bring two pairs of shoes) I like that ballet flats can be casual with something like jeans for walking around during the day on a trip but also can elevate an outfit for a night out too while still being comfortable. Which color would you pick for a pair of ballet flats?
