Chicago the Musical is on tour in Seattle through November 2nd. If you’ve never seen this one before, Chicago the Musical is the longest running Broadway musical and you probably already know some of the songs already without even realizing it. (This was definitely me). My husband and I were invited to see this show as media and I had just picked him up from the airport from actual Chicago (he was stuck in the Alaska Air IT outage) so we were a little tired but the energy from the show kept us awake and engaged. The storyline is intriguing, the choreography is outstanding and the songs are catchy and classic.

Should you bring kids to Chicago the Musical

The recommend age group for Chicago the Musical is 13 and up and I would probably be aligned with that. It’s a mature storyline that might be difficult for a young audience to follow. You can find more about the story on the Chicago on Tour website to make a decision for yourself. Also, I would suggest for any age group to listen to the music before you go. I was so glad to know a few of the songs (All that Jazz, Razzle Dazzle and Mr Cellophane) and see them performed live in this show.

Chicago on Tour at the Fifth Avenue Theatre in Seattle

I hadn’t been to the Fifth Avenue theatre in a while and it has beautiful historical design inspired by Imperial Chinese architecture . I wasn’t sure how much time I would have to get to the bathroom during intermission and while I was in line for the stalls on the first floor I was told to go to the bathrooms on the second floor which had more stalls (15 stalls to be exact). The line was still quite long but we all had ample time to get back to our seats which is really nice in a theatre. There are also multiple exits so getting out of the theatre after the show is quite quick and reminds me of going to shows in London.

There are also “Me+3 packs” available where you get 25% off if you buy four tickets together for some shows.
